The Oriental cat was developed with the use of a self coloured cat mated to a Siamese cat. From this a startling cat arrived, with green eyes. These cats are intermated with the Siamese at all times, and they form a pleasant contrast to the Siamese cat. The  introduction of the Bicolour has allowed the Harlequin and Van patterned cat to become part of the Oriental section. The van pattern only allows pattern to be on the front of the head, near to the ears, a coloured tail and only one or two spots of colour on the body. Where the colour increases, the cat then becomes the Harelquin, with more coloured pattern allowed.  Currently our Oriental cats include

Templeton Reddy Set Go - a red and white ticked bicolour male

Sayitis Clawd Van Damm  - a black Harlequin male

Sayitis Claudine Firefly - a black tortie harlequin female

To be able to have tortie,  red or cream cats, one parent must be part of the "O" gene. This is a sex linked colour, and cannot be carried.

We have been very pleased with the kittens "Red" has produced and all have his sooky nature.

Claudine and Clawd are children of Red, and hare wonderful additions to our cattery.
